PRDRE39A Prepare and execute documentation - Unit descriptor

This unit describes how to prepare and present documents in the practice of real estate agency in QLD as prescribed by state legislation. It covers sales and property management activities.

This unit has been customised so as to satisfy the learning outcomes required by the QLD Office of Fair Trading for licensing and registration. The learning outcomes include all the elements of competency in the standard version of PRDRE39A.

Performance criteria

  1. Identify and prepare appropriate documentation.

1.1 Appropriate documentation for respective tasks is identified.
1.2 Parties, property and all relevant terms agreed to by the parties are described.
1.3 Legal and government requirements are fulfilled in the correct manner.
1.4 Documentation is completed accurately.
1.5 Documentation is prepared within required timeframe.

  1. Present documentation for execution.
2.1 Advice given to the client / customer is accurate and complete.
2.2 Client / customer is advised of rights, obligations and responsibilities ensuing from the legal relationship.
2.3 Document is signed and witnessed in accordance with legal requirements and is properly executed.
2.4 Document is certified if necessary.
2.5 All relevant processes and searches are completed.
2.6 Documentation is checked to ensure it is completed accurately and in accordance with procedures within the required timeframe.
  1. Manage collateral / third party involvement.
3.1 Execution and return of documentation by other parties is arranged.
3.2 Execution by third parties is checked to ensure compliance with legislative constraints.
3.3 Completion of actions by other parties is checked to ensure timelines are met.
  1. Draft, adapt and construct documents to meet client / customer needs and instructions.
4.1 Document purpose is identified.
4.2 Document is designed to conform to all formatting requirements.
4.3 Documentation is drafted or adapted to meet client / customer needs.
4.4 Document is produced which achieves intended purpose.
4.5 Content information is checked to ensure it is clear, accurate and unequivocal.
4.6 Completed document is checked for consistency with purpose and legislative requirements.
